Jungschar overnight weekend

From February 16 to 18, the Jungschar spent the night in the community.

From February 16 to 18, the crowd spent the night in the municipality. 18 children and 7 employees took part.

After all the children had arrived on Friday evening and had settled in a bit, there were wraps for dinner. Then we played a quiz in the dark with fluorescent paint. Shortly before bedtime, we talked to the children about various questions in order to get to know each other a bit better. Questions included: “Describe yourself in 4 words”, “Why are you a youngster? ” or “What are you afraid of? ”. After that, it was already a night's rest. As expected, it did not come as quickly as I had hoped.

After a short night, it was time to go straight to breakfast on Saturday morning. Afterwards, there was a delicious breakfast with scrambled eggs and fruit salad, before continuing in small groups after a short break with the Bible period. The theme of the Bible period was “The Power of Words.” We talked to the children about the effects that both positive and negative words have on us and our feelings, and that negative words cannot simply be withdrawn. In addition, everyone has drawn a person to whom he/she should give a serious compliment during the day. Now the kids were allowed to play a bit again while we employees prepared lunch. With the support of some volunteer children, we prepared sandwiches, which led to some surprise but was important for the later program.

After a lunch break, it was time for IG's (interest groups). The kids were allowed to paint choices between stretcher frames, play archery, play board games, do their own body scrub and play outside. A group change was also possible at any time.

This was followed by the next item on the program: cooking together. For this purpose, the kids were divided into 3 groups: starter, main course and dessert. Each group received two recipes and was allowed to choose one of them. We then bought the ingredients for the respective dish in groups. Each group cooked their dish and we all ate a delicious 3-course menu together.

Since many of the kids still had power afterwards, a children's disco was held for the time being. Even after that, the kids were still not tired, so we went on a night hike with torches. (Finally) Tired, it went to bed, and in contrast to Friday evening, the bedrooms became quiet quite quickly...

It was then a bit more stressful on Sunday morning: After all, we had to have everything “nice” again before you came to the service. So we had a quick breakfast and then the bags were packed. We then briefly introduced ourselves at the service, but you have noticed that.

And that's how a short, sometimes exhausting, yet very nice overnight weekend ended, and hopefully all participants had fun!

Stick with it: Firm and loyal!
