The month of March has arrived, and with it comes a refreshing breeze!
The month of March has arrived, and with it, a refreshing breeze of new beginnings is coming to our midst. Like the Prophet joel It in Chapter 2, verse 22 says:
“Do not be afraid, you animals of the field, for the floodplains of the desert are green,
and the trees bear their fruit
The fig tree and the vine bring their strength.”
You can already see the buds on some trees and this gives us the certainty that the rather grey and monotonous winter season will soon come to an end and spring is just around the corner. These words from Joel remind us that God provides us with new opportunities and blessings every season.
As your pastor, I notice that an incredible amount has happened in the past few months. These last few months may have been challenging, but we were able to initiate many valuable areas as a church with God's help. Funds have already been made for our “Remodeling Project 25” collected - at a 70th birthday party and also at a great sponsor dinner. There are always new guests at church services, and on a personal level too, I feel how some of us are taking new steps in faith and allowing ourselves to be used by God.
Nature is awakening to new life, and we too are called to renew our faith and intensify our service in the community.
Let's get together in March to celebrate this spirit of optimism and to encourage each other! We have three very special events in March: We are celebrating the Festival of Hope together and thus our new name and vision. We will experience a great kids musical together. And at the end of March, we can properly celebrate Easter together.
Let us be reminded that God always surrounds us with His grace and blessings, even in times that seem grey and monotonous right now. May this month be a sign of a new beginning for all of us, a testimony of God's loyalty and love for his community!
I cordially invite you to take part in the various events and services in March. Let's celebrate this time of new beginnings together and remember that we are strong as a community when we stand together!
“Even you who live on Mount Zion
Rejoice and rejoice in the Lord your God! How loyal and fair he is!
He gives you refreshing rain again
in autumn and spring,
just as he did before. ”
Joel 2.23
